All the drawings from my series in which I anthropomorphized various heraldic animals. Read more about each one here.

Arman the cock-chafer. Fancies himself a sleuth and has a bit of a chivalric streak; both unwarranted. The tail design is inspired by fleurs-de-lis.
Maybugs aren’t very prominent in heraldry, but they exist, and I love the things.

A heraldic boar, which I name Anthony (Tony among friends). Very laid back and mellow kind of guy—sorry, dude. Mellow kind of dude. Wise and headstrong, he’s lived and loved, I suppose.

The martlet is in English heraldry depicted as a swift with tufts of feathers instead of talons, sometimes lacking a beak as well. I was thinking of making him an amputee, but settled on giving him huge tufts of feathers where his legs start instead. Kind of look like a feathery skirt, right?
I call this one Chiddester. He’s indeed very swift, a messenger type (don’t shoot!) who’s a lot more tough and jaded than he might look.
Are those boots or feet? Cartoon animal physiques never did make much sense, now did they?

I don’t draw enough insects, so here’s a heraldic bee girl. I call her Napoleon. Those are fleurs-de-lys in her wing membranes.

In heraldy, male gryphons don’t have wings, but rather spikes or tufts, or even sun rays, on certain areas of their bodies.
I imagine this one, named Apollo, to be calm and resourceful, a natural leader. Very humble and raises his voice only when he absolute needs to.

Did you know unicorns are traditionally these rowdy, randy beasts, all to ready for some interspecies action? The chains are canon as well.
I call her Lis, I bet she’s pretty nasty.

Heraldic wyrm girl. I call her Laidley.

Heraldic eagle guy(s). Criminal kingpins and vain as anything. A dynamic duo in one; one of the heads intelligent and calculating, the other shameless and violent.

Heraldic lion guy. Chain smoking and fed up with life in general.
